The New Community Rules: Marketing on the Social Web is an excellent book - written well, enjoyable, and informative. Who is it for? In my opinion this book is mandatory reading for people interested in promoting a company, product, or service using social media sites/networks. It would also be interesting for the novice who wants to learn more about how facebook, twitter, blogs, etc. are used as well as combining various media effectively.

I consider myself at an "intermediate" level in understanding social media: I use facebook, linkedin, twitter, am internet savvy, etc. However I knew there were gaps in my knowledge and that I could learn a lot more. This book was revolutionary for me as I've gained a whole new perspective on social media and look forward to applying it in the future. Only the most advanced social media 'freaks' who are plugged into all the networks already can take a pass on the book, although I'm sure reading this book would also give the 'power-user' a few good ideas to try.
